Description
Donato Ramunno is a geologist who graduated from the University of Basilicata, where he completed a thesis on hydrogeological instability in the Basilicata region. He is the Director General and Administrative Director of ARPAB – the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Basilicata, a role he has held in his second mandate since 2022. He has over twenty-five years of experience in hydrogeological risk management and environmental protection, gained through both freelance professional activity and roles within the public administration. He also holds national-level positions, including participation in the MASE–SNPA Coordination Table for the implementation of the EU regulation on methane emissions, and membership in the Board of Directors of the TERN Consortium. He has worked as a scientific consultant, participated in commissions and selection panels, and is an author and speaker in the scientific field, with publications and presentations on geology, environmental science, and biodiversity. In the past, he has also held institutional roles as President of Commissions on Environment, Territory, and Budget.
