He has decades of clinical and research experience across all major fields of cardiology. He combines clinical practice with academic teaching at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. A pioneer in the application of technological innovation to medicine, he has coordinated major international projects for the European Union and the ESA (European Space Agency). He has served on prestigious international scientific and technical committees, including the ESC (European Society of Cardiology), ACC (American College of Cardiology), NIH (National Institutes of Health, USA), and the Canada Ministry of Health. He was among the first promoters of pilot projects on neural networks in cardiology and led the development of global medical databases at an international level.
