Giorgio Metta is Scientific Director at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and a pioneer in cognitive robotics. He led the development of the iCub robot, a global reference platform for embodied AI, and coordinates international projects on adaptive humanoid robots.
He has contributed to international AI forums, including the G7, and authored over 300 scientific publications.
His research focuses on biologically inspired robotics and developing intelligent systems capable of learning from experience.
