Description
The talk tells the story of how Intrawelt, a translation agency from the Marche region with 35 years of experience in translation, localization, and interpreting services, responded to the challenge of AI instead of being overwhelmed by it, in collaboration with the SPOCRI Lab of the University of Macerata led by Professor Emanuele Frontoni.
Starting from the catastrophic predictions surrounding the industry, the presentation shows how the global translation market has actually continued to grow (+5.6% annually, from USD 56 billion to a projected USD 124 billion by 2037), while still acknowledging the real impact on professionals in the sector.
Intrawelt’s response was the development of scenia®, a SaaS platform created in collaboration with the University of Macerata and the company Aidapt. The platform integrates translation memories, specialized AI, and human professionals (human-in-the-loop) into a model where costs progressively decrease as validated translation knowledge accumulates.
The core thesis is that translation and AI have become commodities, but the real product has always been — and still is — the expert management of complex linguistic projects.
